While I have never considered myself a great guitar player after self-teaching myself the last 3 years, I can say that I do know a thing or two about music theory. I have played several instruments during elementary, middle and high school. The violin, trumpet, baritone, and now, the guitar. Scales, chords, melody, harmony, major, minor - I have known like the back of my hand for years now. However, I was never able to combine everything into one and make music on my own. I was never able to just... play.

Before I bought this guide, I knew the major scales, all the chords (open, barre), I knew how to play along with sheet music with my guitar (I can read music, always a plus), and I knew how to change keys and still be able to play along in chords. But I never knew how to make my own music or just simply improvise.

Now, after just one read of the guide, I was playing my guitar in G and was playing a riff I made up on the spot. It sounded so good that my little brother (who thinks I'm a god on the guitar) thought I was playing a song that was in the book. It was the first "ah-ha" moment I've had.

Playing the entire fretboard is now easier than I have ever imagined. In fact, it is so easy that I feel dumb that I didn't find it out on my own. Anyone who is debating on whether to get this, take it from a self-taught guitar player who has plateaued the last year and didn't think he could improve, BUY IT!!!
