Make sure you download lame and the front end lame razer.
Is the popping sound in the wav file too. I use cheetah and have had no problems with it.

Hi Clancy - I've been trying to upload an ordinary mp3 file from my computer into a post. I read your sticky and everything works except when I left click on upload, the screen shifts down a bit but nothing actually uploads. The file is not too big and plays fine on my computer but I can't get it to actually upload. It's the same for other mp3's I have as well. Any ideas?

Hi Carol,

Have you ever uploaded anything here successfully? Like a pic or any other type of file?

Clancy

hmm, I don't know why that would be Carol... was the photo you uploaded an attachment to a thread or was it just your avatar and profile pic that you tested?

Also, how big is the MP3 file?... if we can't work it out here, I'll just get you to email it to me and I'll test it out from my side.

I tried a different photo into a post (but didn't post it) and it worked fine. Could it be that I play my mp3's using Real Player? Does that make a difference? I've tried several different mp3's from different folders and none of them upload. It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice to find out why.

Carol,

When you get a chance, can you email me the MP3 file. My email is clancy @ guitarforbeginners.com

We'll sort it out.

Clancy

I'm half way there - I've finally uploaded (it just took a lot longer than I expected) but now I can't get it into the post! I've 'closed the small window' but nothing appears in the body of the post. I already have the upload in the 'manage attachments' box but can't get it into the message box. (I'm determined not to feel stupid!)

It doesn't appear in the body of the post Carol. You need to scroll down after the message area and you will see your attached file/s listed under the Attach Files section.

Also, when you were uploading, did you not see a progress bar?

Success, it just needed a leap of faith! I didn't want to click the 'post' button when I couldn't see that the attachment was included. No I didn't see a progress bar. I only realised that it took so long when I tried to email it to you and my email page did have a progress bar.

In case you're interested, the upload was a song I found called 'Sore Thumb' and wanted to post it to Chaotic Kittie's My Aching Thumb thread.
Thanks Clancy

That's very strange. There should be a progress bar when you upload.

...and I thought we were finally going to be hearing your playing.
