Replacing the guitar altogether isn't an option. I love this guitar and the woman who gave it to me.

sure it's not possible to put a shorter scale neck on without body modification? Have you read
this? If I'm understanding it correctly, this company makes 24.75" scale necks specifically for strats that were originally 25.5" scale. Unfortunately, the nut width options are too narrow on the conversion necks so I'd have to either get something custom done or go with a different company.
