The Battle

Haven't done this tune for some time.

I'll dedicate it to Lisa T (GeetarGal) who is spending her birthday today, as well as missing the 4th of July festivities, fighting forest fires here in the NW USA. Tough work, fer sure.

Get yerself home safe, girl.

I think I got the words mostly right. One time through...back porchin' it again, lol.

Payden,

Nice work on the tune, your vocals graced that tune very well.
Definitely that good old down home country sound.

Thanks mucho, Eddie and Theo. George's tunes are hard to cover when yer just strummin' along and singin'...most of his stuff has a lot of players backin' him up...steel, back-up singers, violins...not to mention that George has such a distinct voice and delivery. Ya just have to do it yer own way and hope for the best, lol.

Lovely song Payden, your voice is well suited to it, I really wish you could get rid of that hiss, I'm sure it would make a big difference, very well played and sung all the same.

When all else fails, read the instructions.

Thank you for dedicating it to me, Peyden, it is awfully nice of you. And thanks to the rest of you for the happy birthday wishes.

Such a heart breaker of a song. It's almost as if you are singing about something that really happened. Hehe.

I've worked 91 hours in the past 7 days, so this is the first chance I've had to listen to anything online. Thank God for a day off now and then...

A great song Payden, Your vocals reminded me a little of Randy T or Josh. I wish I could voice would go that low. Very nice.

Thanks a bunch, ratiugsj.

I reckon ya mean Randy Travis, but I have no idea who Josh is, bro, lol. I very seldom listen to the radio and haven't for several years, so unless it's an artist that's been around for a spell, I ain't got a clue.

I gotta concentrate for them low notes...but no amount of concentration gets me to those high notes the way johnnydoxx does 'em.

Randy Travis is correct and Josh Turner. (Long Black Train). Both have a very distinctive baritone voice thats unmistakable as to who it is. Your voice reminded me a little of each. Very nice.
