Jazz blues, the silly version

When Slick Cat posted this BT, I did a take which I posted in his thread I think. After hearing Kirk's take earlier today I was a bit abashed, so I decided to go well over the top. Everything is first take, including my first ever slide playing, (I went to the next town to buy one). The lyrics are:

Slick Cat laid this down
As a challenge to us all
But today I got the news
That Kirk had heard the call
With touch, taste and tone
He blew us all away
In fact I heard some stereotypical guy from a movie say
'Man that cat can play!'
So there's no changing of the Guard, oh help me please.
It's the changing of the keys

It was fun,
Ian

What I think is great about this community is that we all have different styles and tastes, but we're all receptive to each other's preferences. I've heard music here that I would never have listened to if it was presented to me in an anonymous way, if you catch my drift. Jomi, who's not around at the moment, kills me with his songs, and his skills. Chrispy plays the blues superbly. Kenny keeps coming up with surprising stuff, Kirk lets me know where I stand, just by his mastery of melody and tone. You, my friend, have lightened my mood on more than one occasion. The end is listless...is that right?
Ian

Well errr.. nothing listless about the end of this - cheeky boy! Another excellent production Ian, uplifting with lots going on.
You're right about this community and thank you for those kind words about me. I have been around I'm just a bit busy at the moment but that should change over the next few weeks.

When all else fails, read the instructions.

Thanks again John. You know I'm a fan! It's true though, we all have different styles but everyone gets a fair shot, and even old buffers like myself get encouragement.
All the best,
Ian

You're a natural at this slide game Ian. I would have sworn that the "Stereotypical guy from a movie line" was sung by Frank Zappa.
