Hi from Calgary
Just joined, heard about your site on Q107FM in Calgary.
I run a guitar club in my high school, using lessons gleaned from the internet as I do not play guitar myself.
Next year I am running a GuitarHero/ RockBand club at the school every lunch hour (again with help from Terry and Patti from Q107 and other members of the community who have donated to the club)
I hope that the students get interested in the guitar through the game club and use the Guitar Club to go on to actually play the instrument.

Welcome kchoar sounds like a great project , have you not thought about taking up guitar yourself?
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's,
And his hair was perfect.

Learn to play??
I have tried lessons when I was younger, I am trying to teach myself now using the online lessons.
My son can play any instrument he touches, so at least I have that.
I hope someday to have it all fall into place, but until then I have RockBand and at least I can hit the notes singing and the drums are a lot of fun.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
