Don Mare winds absolutely outstanding pickups. They're not cheap, but they're well worth the money IMO. I have a set of his Telecaster pickups and I can't possibly speak highly enough about them.
Bill Lawrence also receives very high recommendations from those who've played his Keystone pickups. They're priced VERY fairly, considering that they're hand-wound "boutique" pickups.
