Bassline to Kick us Off

So I was messing around with a cheap bass I picked up the other day and I played this little riff.

Thought maybe some people wanted to stick it in a looper (winamp will do) and mess around with it. See what differences styles we can create from it. The loop is not on the beat, so if you want to add something to it in a sequencer you will have to crop the Loop so it works on the beat.

I will have a crack tomorrow too and post up what I can come up with.

For people that are helped by knowing.

Notes are:

D B G F#
D B G A

With some interplay with the open A string at the end and a droning E with the start.

Outstanding Chris! This is the icing on the cake of a great collab. I'm amazed at the clarity of the vocals (and in tune!) and.... no hiss! The comparison between this recording setup and your earlier set up is mind-blowing. Excellent lyrics as well. Congrats to all the contributors

Great job Chris, those lyrics wrapped up current events in a nutshell, well written! I agree with Carol, your recordings are sounding much more professional, well deserved with your vocals and all the difficulties you had with those demon glitches. Well done Chris

Thanks Carol, that made me feel good, I was trying to put attitude in the voice so hopefully that worked, Kenny's track brought the first few lines to me straight away, quite an inspiring tune this has been a good thread as all the tunes have come from Fongs Bassline. My recording is improving, still not as good for instruments but I think I've turned a corner, glad you like the lyrics, tried another different way of writing so I'm pleased it worked

Thanks Krissovo, Your Rockstar song gave me the idea for the ending, liked the idea of stopping a song dead and it's always a bit of a surprise, thanks for having a listen

Thanks for having a listen Ian, like the 60s feel comment, I was going for a sort of eve of destruction sort of thing but my Wife said it reminded her of a Manfred Mann song that her brother used to play to her when she was at school but she can't remember which one, glad you enjoyed it

Glad you liked it Kenny, great tune to work with when I heard the intro I got the first two lines and it just went in that direction, I ran out of music for the last two verses so I had to paste a bit on seemed to work ok but I had to do it a couple of times before it sounded anywhere near continuity, really tried hard to get the vocals in line think I nearly got there, I'm glad they're sounding, better, I haven't had a lot of luck recording but I've refused to give up, glad you liked the lyrics, bit political but just a social commentary really, I do get a bit annoyed with the World sometimes

Best Wishes to you All

Chris
