Thanks everyone. I'm glad others are enjoying it too.
I've been reading the book "MIDI for Musicians", which is a great book, especially the first 2 chapters. I'm into the heavy stuff now, so it's a little slower read. However, I found this site and within about 30 minutes of reading through their stuff, I think I learned what I really need to know about MIDI.
There's also other great information, especially for recording, that I know I will go back to.

..been missing for a couple of months. Thought I forgot it when I last visited my brother out of town! Now I can put it right next to my PC Recording fo Dummies....not that I am dumb or anything, it just makes me feel better somehow - like there is hope for me learning this stuff or something twisted like that!
