Hi Everyone
I have a question about recording in audacity. I can't seem to get rid of my clicktrack after I've recorded my song. I make the clicktrack first on a separate track, then record my song on another track and before I export my song I delete the clicktrack. When I play back my song after I've exported it I'm still hearing the click track! Can anyone offer some suggestions to help me out?

Have you tried removing the click and playing back your song (without exporting it)?

My only guess would be that you're getting bleed through from your headphones when recording the other instruments or vocals. I've had that happen before. If you delete it, then save the song file, then export it, there's no way the click track should still be there (other than bleed through).

Thanks for the link to Audacity's forum. I've been snooping around in there...I have found some things I didn't know about but so far I haven't solved my problem. I appreciate your help!

Yes I have tried deleting the click track and playing it back in audacity....the clicks are still there! I am new to this...I can't help but think maybe I've done something to cause this problem! Maybe I should try that Reaper program you talk so much about...that's always an option I guess.

I recommend Reaper anyways, but you're problem is actually in the sound card setup (not Audacity).

You need to select the correct input in your sound card's mixer. This will be either the "line" input or the "mic" input, depending on which one you are plugged into on your sound card.

Thank you sooo much for all the help!!! Yes it is working, I can finally get rid of those annoying clicks after I record. This recording thing is just as much of a challenge as learning the guitar! Now that this recording problem is taken care of I can get back to the fun part.....playing guitar! I really appreciate your efforts to help me out....your tutorials are great!
