I've never played a Hagstrom, so can't speak to their quality. I prefer Schecter to Ibanez - I like the quality and workmanship of the Schecter better, as well as the overall feel of the guitar. YMMV, as I'm not a shredder or metalhead and detest ultra-skinny necks and huge frets.
I'm not a big whammy user, but I'm sure the Floyd Rose will hold tune better than a floating trem. Eddie Van Halen used Floyd Roses for that exact reason, and if they could tolerate his abuse I'm sure they can tolerate just about anybody's. I can't stand the trem on my Strat, and would block it completely if the Strat were my main guitar. I've left it as is only because it's the only trem guitar I have and every once in a while I get the urge to play something that requires the whammy - that's about the only time the Strat comes out.
