Hi

I live in Columbus Ohio USA.

I bought an acoustic guitar a while ago to gain a better appreciation and understanding of music.
I seem to regularly hit learning stages where I'm floundering about trying to figure out what next step I should take to make effective progress. I can understand why many people recommend finding an instructor. I'm hoping that by asking a few questions on these forums, I can reduce my bouts of floundering.

So far I've:

* used the C major and chromatic scales to improve finger strength, coordination, and become familiar with the fretboard
* learned a few simple melodies
* learned a few easy chords
* gotten familiar with tab and standard notation
* read a number of sites and books to better understand scales, chords, patterns, etc.


I'm currently trying to wrap my head around actually using chords. I'll be posting some questions after I browse the forums a bit more.
