Maybe this time!

Hi,
I've been learning to play guitar on and for years
I have returned again after a break of two years following the birth of our baby boy.

Our 12 year girl has since taken up piano and is into her second year and doing very well. The sound of music being played live in the house is a real pleasure to hear .

So of course its now time for Dad to take out the old guitar again and since discovering this site I really feel I'm coming along well.

The tips on barre chords were especially helpful to me.

Okay thats it, thanks for reading .

Pat

Great news Pat and welcome to the forum. It`s nice to hear your kids playing music. My 14 year old daughter has played guitar for about 2 years now and started bass this year.

Thanks everyone for the very nice welcome.

I have to say I've visited a lot of guitar sites recently but finally struck gold finding guitarforbeginners.com.

There are so many clear no-nonsense lessons here, and you can always find something relevant to whatever stage your playing is at at any given moment.

Simply Brilliant!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
