Customizing a case

Not sure if there's another post on this, but I tried to find somthing on customizing or personalizing a guitar case. The one I got with my new Yamaha dreadnought is just the plain black crap-board case. Pretty flimsy, but so far it does the trick when I haul it around it doesnt get scratched up.

What I was thinking is I have this plastic simulated diamond-cut on a roll that is for "decorating" a vehicle's interior(cut it out, use the fasteners that come with it, can put it on door panels, dash boards, etc..). I thought about cutting it out to form and put it on my case with some glue, so I wont have to put in screws that may end up scratching my pride and joy. Was wondering if anyone else had cases they've decked out. I figure for a cheap case, I can always get another if I screw it up.

I was also wondering if anyone else with one of these flimsy things has ever padded or insulated the inside with foam or anything to "fit" it to the guitar? Any ideas on what to use for that? I was thinking some kind of hard foam padding(where to get that I dont know yet..LOL), and covering that with some fabric or something from the craft shop, like felt or microfiber.

I know it sounds a bit overkill when I could have just spent the money for a better case, but I guess I need something to do while these blisters on my fret hand heal up ROFL. I need to learn how to pace myself.

Anyway, if anyone has any good ideas, or better yet, some pictures, lets have 'em.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
