Your are right when you say " the fingers will obey " .... eventually.

3 months ago I was in serious doubt, but now I realize that the first time I look at a new tab I will always feel this way, but by the 3rd or 4th look, their little memories kick in and they start to fall in line and things start to work themselves out.
