Is my fender blender bad?

Just picked up a fender blender custom (the re-issue) pedal. It buzzes really hard when switched on so loud that it overpowers any playing i do. The buzz persists even if all strings are muted. I am running an Epiphone (Les Paul custom black beauty knock off) and Marshall MGseries 30 DFX. I watched a video demo of the pedal and didn't hear any similar buzz cant post the link as I'm a new user but its off gearwire.

Is my pedal broken or is this just how they sound?
Thanks in advance!

Are you using a battery or AC adapter? If you are using a battery then about the only way to see if it's the unit would be to put a 1/4" plug in the input jack, wire the tip to the shield in the plug. If it still buzzes then probably something wrong with the unit. Since it's a high gain fuzz, any noise coming from the instrument cable is going to be loud.

Thanks for the help. I'm using an ac adapter. I will try that as soon as I get home from work. Fortunately the vendor has allowed me to send it back to them and ship me a new one.

It could be the adapter is not filtered well enough. Try it with a battery.
