I've got a bit of experience with this one. One close friend has a MIM solid body and another a Thinliner (played the thinline in a pub for a couple hours the other night). In a word the difference is "twang" tonewise, which the thinline has no shortage of. I actually like the sound of the solid body better, But the thinline is nicer to play (could however be differences in setup). If your more into southern style blues and some rockabilly the thinline is the way to go. If you lean more towards clapton and guys like that the solid body probably what your looking for. Both are great guitars.

Personally I'd like to have both!
