Talking electro?

I wanna buy an electric guitar but I don't have enough cash to buy a branded one, what should I look for, for a good solid body electric guitar?

Wheeee! My budget went up, it's now 240$ for everything including amps and effects... Too bad it's gonna be 3 mos. before I get it... I was thinking something like the ibanez grx20, what're your opinions on this? And I just wanna know how abusable is the whammy bar on this thing...

I don't mind it not having a very low setup hermanli_ibanezshredder, cause I've been practicing lots on my guitar. I can do a bit of double tapping already... The guitar I have it's pretty bad, the lowest distance between strings is closest to the head is about a cm, and the farthest point at the 18th fret is about 2cm... It's unbranded and was a cheap guitar it cost like 20$... It's a steel stringed 3/4 acoustic guitar btw.. And man it feels like playing on a cheese grater... I tried my friends classical yamaha guitar, it felt like playin on silk, but when I got my hands on an electric to have a test see. damn... it was like heaven....

I was thinking just buy a decent guitar worth about 150$, then just hook it up to my pc while I still don't have amps...

Whatcha think guys?

The whammy bar on that thing is not a Floyd Rose type. I mean, sure, Yngwie malmsteen does stuff on his Strat tremolo. But he has it setup in a way that it's floating, so it returns to tuning. And he ties his strings to the tuners, so they don't unwind.

If you prefer to 2 hand tap like I do sometimes, may I recommend tying a small strip of cloth on the neck to help dampen some extra noise? The only thing with a rag tied on your axe is that it interfers with open chords.

Yesterday was history, tommrow is a mystery, today is a gift. I'm moving on and starting over. There are things that have been done and past. You cannot change what's done but you can change what has not been. I will fall down and I'll pick myself back up again.
