Song on the Wind, lyrics and chords update

Hi these are some lyrics and chords for the Song on the wind tune posted by Dewy, we have a few guys on board Dewy, Windsong, X4string and other members helping us along, the song still needs some work so we're throwing it open to the forum for ideas, all members are welcomed with open arms

SONG ON THE WIND

................G.........................C....... ...............
We're going cruising in Fort Lauderdale

...............G..........................D7...... ..............
Just got my pay check arrived in the mail

..............G........................C.......... ...............
Got my Harley kick'n and we're ready to go

..............D7......................G........... ..............
Head'n down t a bar I know

( short lead guitar solo )

..............G..........................C........ ..............
She's on my bike and truck'n with me

.............G...................D7............... G............
Head'n toward the Elbo Room I see

............G.............................C....... ..............
The drinks are there and all lined up

...........G..................D7............G..... ............
For my band my sweetheart and me

( short lead guitar solo )

...........G..............................C....... .............
It's good to get out on the open road

...........G............................D7........ ............
Ride'n through the cool evening breeze

...........G.............................C........ ...........
The moon's out and so bright

............D7.......................G............ ..........
And to have my sweetheart with me

...........G........................C............. .........
I hear a SONG ON THE WIND

..........G.............................D7........ .........
Wave's crash'n from within

............G..........................C.......... .........
Got my sweetheart near me tonight

............D7........................C........... .........
Holding her just right

(short guitar lead solo )

..............G........................C.......... ............
Got the band there wait'n

.............G......................D7............ ..........
Got to go I know

.............G.....................C.............. ..........
Get my sweetheart on the back of me

...........D7.....................G............... .........
Head'n for the Elbo Room I see

Just a suggestion on Verse #4:
At the Elbo Room the feelings right
We'll meet the band, you know their sound is tight
You can play guitar or just kick off your shoes
Later on we'll play some Country, Blues

Yeah that looks better Knight, it was the first line that was the sticking point that seems to flow better now, trying to work out a separate chord progression for the chorus any ideas, we could do with more input on this song
PS. Windsong said we'll need a slide player too, looking for a sort of rocking Country feel to the song

Best Wishes

Chris

Got my sweetheart to truck along
She hops on the back and we're head'n on

small change here also Chorus (1)

There's a Song on the Wind calling out to me
Gonna head for the place where there's melody
With my sweetheart behind me guitar on her back
The engine's crank'n and we're right on track

Well hope to get some suggestions from other members, see what happens. I'll get back with that verse 4, it's a stickler
Good changes Windsong, Knight's suggestion makes that verse 4 sharper as well so everything's cool

Ok Knight, I''ll try that, thanks for responding so quick you're a star, Windsong has put a lot of effort into this song so it would be great if we could produce a really good song for him

I am at work so I have to run the chords through a chord player to hear the results. So I am not sure if this is the flavor you are looking for...

Thanks Knight46

I'll see what I can do with the new words, appreciate you help. Hope to hear more from ya too. Actually it's been quite fun and I am really enjoying getting the experience with working with writers and guitars players on Dewy's "Song on the Wind".

Thanks for the invite to contribute fellas, but you guys are doing such a great job, I'm just watching from the side lines - can't wait to here how far its gone. Are you going to add in a throaty Harley roar of sound from your box of tricks, Chris?

Hi guys, here's the latest lyric ideas put together with changes, Knights verse 4, and Windsongs verse 1 and chorus Change Windsongs just put some finishing touches to the lyrics and some more members are helping out which is cool, still working on the chord progression and Knights one for the chorus, think we still need a slide player and some breaks, we're still moving in the right direction and it's coming together

Song on the wind

Verse 1

I hear a Song on the Wind calling out to me
Gonna pack my guitar crank up that Harley
Got my sweetheart to truck along
She hops on the back and we're head'n on

Verse 2

We're going cruising in Fort Lauderdale
Just got my pay check arrived in the mail
Got my Harley kick'n and a place to go
We're Head'n down to a bar we know

Chorus

There's a Song on the Wind calling out to me
Gonna head for the place where there's melody
With my sweetheart behind me guitar on her back
The engine's crank'n and we're right on track

Verse 3

It's good to get out on the open road
Ride'n through the warm summer breeze
With the sun shining on us and the future bright
Got the feeling it's gonna be a special night

Verse 4

At the Elbo Room the feelings right
We'll meet the band, you know their sound is tight
You can play guitar or just kick off your shoes
Later on we'll play some Country, Blues

Chorus

Theres a song on the wind, calling out to me
Gonna head for the place where there's melody
With my sweetheart behind me, guitar on her back
The engine is purring and we're right on track

Verse 5

Well the Elbo Room's packed the bands all here
Got to get on that stage sorry my dear
There's smoke in the air and the lights are dim
Time now for the band to begin

Verse 6

There's a song in the wind floating out from the bar
The heavenly sound of an old blues guitar
We're playing our hearts out the feeling is right
The Elbo room is rockin' tonight

End

When I hear a song on the wind calling to me
I head for the place where there's melody
With my sweetheart behind me we hit the street
Open the throttle and follow the beat

You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

Thanks Starsailor
I again see room for a few more changes on the lyrics.
But only a word or 2 need to be changed. Well we are almost to the end on the lyric writing and the next post should be an update with the cords on it. I'm working on an lead intro and having a slide is really going to crank up this song. So I hope we get some slide players and steel guitar players on board soon. Again thanks for your kind patience on this collab. Sorry wrong smile, none of us have argued at all

Hi everyone, for those of you who are now just tuning in on this thread, well it is still active and the lyrics seem t o be completed and we got a pretty good take on the music. We are in the process of fine tuning the song with everyone involve. Since we all live in all parts of the world, Europe,Asia,America and who knows where else. This has been quite a challenge. If you like to join in PM Starsailor for more information. As far a the video, hmm maybe someone can come up with something there. Does sound interesting.
