Mamma's Boy, Daddy's Girl - Original

Just playing around tonight (taking a short break from recording lol) and came up with these lyrics. I think it says country all the way! I made add more verses.

Mamma's Boy, Daddy's Girl
by: ATM Febrary 15, 2008

CHORUS:
Mamma's boy, Daddy's girl.
If that doesn't give your head a swirl.
What if you're two boys and two girls?
Please, save the nuts for the squirrels!

Why does it matter what sex I am?
Leo the Lion or Aries the Ram?
Look at your heart to see who you are.
Follow that sixth sense and you will go far.

Why does it matter what I wear?
Forget judgement, just tell me you care.
If anything is torn, it's not my clothes
Unconditional love? Yes, one of my woes.

Why does it matter on which lap I lie?
It shouldn't make living at home go awry.
I don't know if I could ever choose.
If you make me do it, we all will lose.

Hey man that's a really good soundin song. It flows really good. I just can't seem to figure it out. What's it about?

David

"So baby please forgive me,/I hope somewhere that maybe,/I won't hurt inside on the daily/Then my love, can be set free"

Hi David,

Thanks. The first version was pretty confusing. After giving it a second look, there were really two themes happening: favouritsm between Mom and Dad and/or being treated differently because of your sex (boy or girl).

I've since rewritten the lyrics with one theme: judgement and don't let it get to you because "all that matters to me is me". In, the end it is what we think about ourselves. If you go back a coupl e of posts you should see the rewrite. I now call it "All That Matters". I'm still working on the lyrics. I'm not sure the last verse works anymore under the new theme.
