If your using real player, make sure you have the latest version and that it is set-up as your default player or at least reconizes MP3 files, I believe a lot in here use windows media player, also VLC Player{google it} will pretty much play most file types.

One thing you can try also is to "save" the file when the screen asks if you want to open or save, then try opening it and see if that solves it...let us know how it goes
