Played drums from age 10 until 35 in all sorts of sordid and unclassy places, including the sleazy dumps where the stage was surrounded by chicken-wire. Concert band, standards, jazz, rock, country.

Self-learned guitar beginning 1969 and actually got enough nerve to play solo and band gigs with a limited repertoire and no lead, only rhythm and vocals. But that was just filler when a drum gig was not on.
When I could no longer be a star 6 nights/week and be awake at my real job, I kept the real job and only played drums and guitar at home occasionally.

After retirement, my wife bought me a nice acoustic, and I've gotten back at it. This site already helped with that, showing me where my bar chord technique had gotten sloppy (bad thumb position).
