Kiss kiss said the writer
Hug hug a little tighter
Man it's getting thick
Could almost make one sick
Hope no one thinks we're cracked
But I agree that it's a fact
Glad to be a part of it
I'm not lying not one bit
To all you GFB&B'er's
Who partake, I'll buy the beer's{oooohhh that rhyme hurt}
I see we're on page fourty four
Can we do fifty six more?
I'm sure you folks have the range
This post may cause thing's to change
It may take us to fourty five
Been quite busy like a bee-hive

Time to take a new direction
Steer the wheel a course correction
Travel South it's warmer there
Fed up with thermal underwear
Thoughts turn now to warmer climes
Not warming in my rocking chair
Something a little more sublime
A Daiquiri in old Havana
A big Cigar and old Piano
That sounds good a classic scene
But not the one of which I dream
Maybe a stroll a promenade
A pretty girl, suit tailor made
That would be nice yes quite bespoke
But not the thing for folk like me
Maybe something that's not as fancy
Little laidback less romancing
A bullfight no that's kind of chancy
Exotic beach in the Seychelles
Bikini Belles and volleyball
Well could be fun it would enthrall
No I don't know, would I unwind
Something more peaceful's in my mind
Maybe it's best to think of there
But stay here in my Rocking chair
You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

Man you're gonna kill your head
My God look at the time
I'm off to bed

I've said it before
And I'll say it again
Don't beat yourself up
That'll give only pain
Forty posts per page
My friend, 40 posts per page!
User CP and click on the tab
Then all is revealed
In all of its splendour
A vista of postings
Of all our endeavors
I am only, on page 17
Mum said, at fifteen
You're not fit to be seen
Out and about or between (a desperate need of a rhyme)
Without a protector
Of ethics or morals
But where can you find one
When that's what you need?
 Lost the plot!
At page seventeen
I feel quite serene -
Even slightly superior
If you know what I mean-
Such page turning addiction
That by some is adored
Which can cause on your keyboard
Such un-necessary friction
Could it be that you suffer
From some sort of affliction?
One good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain - Bob Marley

'A Dame's a Dame for a' that' - terrible liberty taken with Robert Burns' original.
I don't really mind
Being addressed as a Dame
If it happens at our Uni
It's a kind of a fame.
In my world, a Dame
Is equivalent to 'Sir'
As in Dame Nellie Melba
Who it's said was a peach (sorry, couldn't resist)
She became rather famous
Because she could screetch
At the top of her lungs
To amuse all the Aussies
Who didn't do much
Except swiping at mozzies*
Or going to the beach
And admiring the cozzies*
Of young men and women
Who had nothing to do
And would wander about
Saying 'Hi' to the crowds there
Or 'How do you do'.
*Mozzies = mosquitos
*Cozzies = bathers, swimmers, or my favourite for men, budgie smugglers (to hear said, not to see )
Go to bed Chris!

Just by chance I have noticed
That now I am cursed
My last post was risky
And not well rehearsed
Post 666 into view had loomed
I took it be chance -
Does this mean I am doomed?

I'd have a whisky
Don't worry too much
Hellfire and damnation
Not imminent for sure
Won't end up knocking
On the Devil's front door
But don't walk under ladders
Or pass on the stairs
Don't laugh when a black cat
Crosses your path
Keep both fingers crossed
Throw salt over your shoulder
Check your heads not embossed
With the numbers you mention
Go out find a priest
And seek out redemption
The tension you feel
Will then slowly pass
Just be very careful
Your luck might be mixed
But you won't have to worry
About six six six
You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

What's that you say
Doomed you feel
I guess maybe
it could be real
I myself
I did not chance
I seen that sign
nearly $#@# my pant's
I care not any
What others say
When it's 666
I do not play
Now I feel safe
I feel fine
this is post
Six Sixty Nine
As for you
We'll wait and see
If your slip-up
causes misery
You may just want
to say a prayer
to keep you from
The devil's lair
But if you go
Keep this in mind
I'll see you there
I'll bring some wine

Wine, whiskey and song
And some ol' rock and roll
Is there anything better?
No need for a poll -
At the crossroads at midnight
We could all get together
No matter how hot
In those regions called 'Nether'
With plenty of music -
Some cool blues or slide
What fate could be better
In this world, far or wide.

Some are prisoners of the white line*
Some are prisoners in jail
I'm a prisoner in my own time
My story to you I'll regale.
Our floors are being re-sanded
And no-one can tread on the boards
There's a terrible din, it's a downright sin
I'm here hiding in one of the cupboards*.
I have my guitar and my 'puter
And a supply of goode jam and some bread
But the noise is so loud it is deafening
And there's ringing in my ears and my head.
Today is day one of the process
Tomorrow there is promise of worse
A stench from the polish - I confess
Will drive me to rant and to curse.
The main thing is not to adventure
Out on the boards when they're sticky
A slip or a slide could be fatal and sure
To require a removal that's tricky.
So I'll plug up my ears
And tune in to my peers*
Not succumb to my fears
And it won't end in tears.

* it's a big cupboard, OK? (poetic license please)
* peers - GFB

Miss Carol, I know of your woe's
for sure, the one of your nose
My floorboards are also my foe's
could the smell be remnant's of toe's{?}
The odor put's me on my back
It floors me as matter of fact
Ventilation surely must lack
Today it ends, for now I shellac
Two weeks, I've been working these floors
Sanding ,scraping and filling the pore's
With no relief of open window's or door's
Four-hundred square feet of pure ugly chores
But alas the end is so near
My nose and my ear's they do cheer
One thing that's perfectly clear
This job cost me plenty in beer
Nothing better than fresh finished Oak
To a woodworker that's not a joke
I'll celebrate with a nice rum & coke
And a hand-rolled "good job" smoke
I hope your "put-out" doesn't last
That soon, the pain's will be past
Hired worker's should finish quite fast
Unlike me who's pace is half-ass'd

Well who would have thought
That beyond all those waves
Another student is fraught
With the very same problem
His nerves also taught
But your way to resolve 'em
Is to give it great thought
A good dose of elbow grease
But our labour is bought
So I can sit back
In my cupboard and play
While the dogs and the cat
Are away for the day(s).
Right now all I do is
Sit here and yawn
So I'm off to bed now -
It starts again at dawn.

Hello Theo it's just good fun
The thread it seems to run and run
Thought processes are quite varied
Some are funny some quite scary
Come and join the merry band
Write anything you want to write
Be serious or keep it light
Songs have arisen from this thread
From simple rhymes songs have grown
We share our thoughts then bring it home
Glad you like what has been done
It's been enjoyed by everyone
You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.
