Our University song

The poem before the song...

Staring at the flickering screen
my eyes begin to numb
I go and grab some more caffeine
what have I now done
an office chair at home so plush
tucked in a corner space
just sitting here when came a rush
brought a smile right to my face
its 1 AM this days been long
its time I go to bed
I'll close this out with a new song
that just popped in my head

X4, thanks for the compliment, I think!
If I write more than once a day....it stinks!
My mind rebels as if from stress
And if I push it..... it's just a mess!
I'd rather a glass of wine when you buy
Beer's not my thing, it makes me cry!?

See..........I told you!!!!!
We're waiting eddiez..............the only thing we promise is not to kill you. But we might rough ya up!!! lol !

Hey guys your writings very strong
Thanks for looking at my song
My ice song left me warm inside
But don't yet have a tune in mind
It really was so cool to find
That Eddiez joined in on our ride
The song about the University
Will spring to life we'll hear and see
Rich vocals, strong words, sweet melody

Please forgive me this one time
I wrote a verse with triple rhyme
I think I've caught that same disease
Of rhyming couplets when linguistic
Maybe an ode devoid of rhyme
Will halt my immersion, or restrict it
I shall return, but need some time

You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

Starsailor,

Nice job on the ice lyric. Hope you put it to music.

Thanks Eddiez, I have a bit of a backlog, my Daughter moved out but then moved back in again and I've given her our room so I've got to relocate to an outbuilding that I'm doing up so I've got a bit of setting up to do, look forward to hearing the University Song

Best Wishes

Chris

I had to tell you
I'm on cloud nine
Just found a tune
For that Song of mine
I need some time
To get things straight
Then I will record
Please don't wait
Or hold your breath
You'll just get bored
Or worse go blue
So be patient
And I'll come through

You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

Hello Knight you've been quite busy
whizzing round the threads
Thanks for looking at my song
Shouldn't be long before a tune
Couldn't think but then it came
I caught you, now you've gone again

You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

I know that feeling very well
The rush of words and musings
To often though they come to me
At night when I am snoozing
Then when I awake
The morning next
My mind is so confused
Was that a D7dim5 I heard
Or just the droning of the morning news.

Knight you stepped in when I was gone
I was playing the neighbour my new song
First time I played to someone who's not family
And I didn't do it too nervously
My Daughter pointed out to me what I had done
Failed to notice what had been achieved
When I was told it surprised me
I thought I would share that with you
And all the members of this literary crew

You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.
