Our University song

The poem before the song...

Staring at the flickering screen
my eyes begin to numb
I go and grab some more caffeine
what have I now done
an office chair at home so plush
tucked in a corner space
just sitting here when came a rush
brought a smile right to my face
its 1 AM this days been long
its time I go to bed
I'll close this out with a new song
that just popped in my head

Carol my dear it was not a plot
I did understand, the KFC I got
but it was the b@#$!@! that actually threw me
I like their original but not extra crunchy

No worries guys, no need to mention,
Apologies, there is no tension,
The Refugees have been evicted,
Kind of found that they restricted
My ability to be really free

The watering can has been upgraded
My Neighbours complained vehemently
Rained insults with venom down on me
They can be dolts and quite the purists
So I've painted it and made it pretty
And hope to sell it to some tourists

Your ability Chris to be free
is not what we need to see
especially when in less than your skivies
although your wife might get a tease
thought of it makes me itch like fleas
get this visual out of my head please
I'm choking, gasping about to wheeze
I'm begging stop, I'm on my knees
glad you can take a joke hee hee

I used to wear Y Fronts
My Wife she used to mock me
Now I wear just Boxer Shorts
And look a bit like Rocky (not)

I borrowed the title line from Kenny and wrote this:

What do you think chaps

My Brain it is like Ice today

My brain it is like ice today
It froze last night, I was alone
Waiting for you to come home

I slept last night so restlessly
Without you lying next to me
Awoke to find I felt quite numb
Could not believe that you had gone

My Mind will be like ice tomorrow
Defensively blocking out sorrow
It knows you've gone tries not to face
The reasons why you left this place

My brain it is like ice today
It froze last night, I was alone
Waiting for you to come home

The coldness may have grown with time
Neglecting you could be my crime
A distant figure turning to ice
May have caused you to think twice

You may have tried to melt my soul
To warm the heart that grew so cold
I didn't notice bereft of thought
But now the lesson has been taught

My brain it is like ice today
It froze last night, I was alone
Waiting for you to come home

You don't stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.

Say folks,

Has anybody done a tune for the Our University Lyrics? If so I must have missed in the 16 pages.
If not, can I do one ?

Please Eddie, do have a go at it, no ones stepped up as of yet that I'm aware of. And it would be an honor to have someone of your skills take charge and run with it....here's to looking forward to it

Kenny,

Ok I am gonna give a good old collage try.
I will only leave this hint.

I came here to the forum
Knew nothing about guitar
Found some easy lessons
So I could become a star

Then I found these super lyrics
Posted in a thread
After carefully reading them
A tune bounced into my head

I hope I do some justice
To these carefully written words I see
Perhaps I'll become a graduate
Of the Lorange & Mullins University

There is a song in every written text. Yep, I seen it in the movies.

  Starsailor's song!

Starsailor's song about ice
Is really quite nice
It makes our endeavor
To rhyme seem very clever.
Instead of just a waste of time
To play about with a line.

I see eddiez has found us out
I hope our song comes about
He'll surely make it sound swell
He composes music very well!
We may be a hit someday
And get to headline on broadway!!!

A girl can dream can she not?
Sometimes a dream is all we've got.
So I'll keep plucking and writing verse
And having fun when immersed
In anything related to music or guitar
You can find me, I won't be far!!!!

Music is a universal language!

Chris, you have done well again
And I'm with Ken, a tune would bring
Into focus, the hurt and pain -
To sing would make the meaning ring.

However,
I am feeling pain as well
The rhyming couplet's spread again
Its all my fault, as numbers swell
Now you as well....the pain, the pain!

I feel so guilty and morose
I think I need to up the dose...
(Aaahh, my curse returns, the curse, the curse!)
Of pills and potions from my nurse.......

I think I need a little rest
A snifter too, that might be best
You see I have returned to couplets
I think I need more lovely druglets.

One good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain - Bob Marley

Aunt Doty my dear I often sit and wonder why
that more of your skills you don't post for our eyes
your words seem to flow like the current of a river
with some of your lines so witty, they make me shiver
its quite the pleasure having you join in here
may a day come by that I can buy you a beer
