Our University song

The poem before the song...

Staring at the flickering screen
my eyes begin to numb
I go and grab some more caffeine
what have I now done
an office chair at home so plush
tucked in a corner space
just sitting here when came a rush
brought a smile right to my face
its 1 AM this days been long
its time I go to bed
I'll close this out with a new song
that just popped in my head

It wasn't the pills that I found
That did all that damage profound
Its the ones I should take but didn't
So now what should be, just isn't.

KC are my initials thats true
would the letter F stand for flew
as in over that there koo koo's nest
rhyming with you all is the best
but sometimes my thoughts drift astray
and makes no sense in what I say
I'm that guitar that needs a tuner
longing to be called a Les junior

OK, I suppose LJ will do at a pinch
But it won't be easy to rhyme
I personally think that KC's a synch
It would save us a great deal of time.

Can I say (and this is just between friends)
That 'flew's not what first came to mind
I think maybe Freddy? of possibly Teddy?
I'm trying my best to be kind.

Call me anything but late for supper
I'm easy that way, a laid back dude
but I'm serious when it comes to that
don't be messing with me about food

I can see that above, my meaning's not clear
I was only trying to say
That 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'
Is no way to say (for one who's so dear)
The way we all feel, both far and near
My meaning may not have been clear (I did fear).

Sorry Carol, but I don't read your replies
spend all my time watching the keys fly
never in my wildest dreams could you mislead
and to guarantee thats why I don't read
just a little joke I hope you'll agree
please just remember its me being me

I'm not so sure now, what you are thinking
But there's one thing I know for sure
Ken you're the greatest (and always demure)
Unlike Chris who has problems, with hygene and stinking
With Decartes, refugees, no water or cess-pit
I sure hope that now, he has gone off (!) to fix it.

Alas dear Carol, my feelings are sinking
I have no clues on earth, what I am thinking
Freddy and Teddy thru me for a loop
but to ask for help, I would not stoop
I know deep in my heart, your here to have fun
and that alone in my book, makes you number one
But now about Chris, just let me say
don't let him fool you, with his devilish way
He lives in a castle, high up on the land
and his family is close, a quite loving clan
His water is imported, cess pit made of gold
Decartes with refugees, oh the stories to be told
he writes poems, like the best who do think
but I have no clues, if he really does stink
Its probably a rumor thats run amuck
but if its truely a problem, I wish him luck

Oh, it was Freddy and Teddy
That led us astray
But try to stay steady
And hear what I say
The Freddy was right
And then Teddy just rhymed!
I just wasn't thinking
And gave you a fright
But as everyone knows
Who's seen Shakespeare Shows
"The rhyme's the thing
Wherein, (de dum)
To catch, the conscience, of the King!"
(or something)

There was an old man from the UK
Who smelt like a sewer they say
He took it quite well,
The suggestion of smell
For he hadn't showered that day
But the rumours weren't true
People didn't go phew
Whenever he walked their way
He daily used soap,
Cleaned between his toes
Used shampoos and conditioners
When finished he smelt
Like a fine English Rose
The most fragrant of all the Parishioners

I'm so sorry dear Chris
In my need for more rhymes
I gave truth a miss -
In my quest for more lines.

I cast false assertions
At one who is skilled,
In casting nasturtiums -
I must therefore be killed

Does this mean, I now wonder
If you take up your part
That my life I'll go under
And I'll die for my art????

No offence taken
I Found it funny
No fun smelling
Like the Dunny
I find no harm
In truth or fiction
Must go now
The toilet paper's
Causing Friction

I was looking at what I had posted before
In my quest to work out what I'd said
I wonder if Kenny ever eats out of doors
Maybe chicken with Kentucky Fried bread?

The place I referred to in that KFC line
Was about that food chain from Kentucky
Perhaps in the need to rhyme all the time
In our choices, we're sometimes unlucky
And the meaning is lost
But the sentiment's not
Our good will, will not come unstuck-y

--------------------------

(Change of rhythm required)

I must say, that it is quite tempting
To tell you, here we all are melting
Lovely sunshine all day long
We can’t stop bursting into song!

The English weather is too bad
There’s even a Syndrome, they call it SAD
I should know, I lived in Bucks -
That is how I know it sucks.

So Chris I'm glad you smell so fragrant
Life can't be easy with your English weather
What did you do with all your vagrants?
You must now be feeling, light as a feather.

To wash between the toes is bliss
It's something that I rarely miss
"Good job too", I hear you chorus
"Get out of here before you bore us!"

I see above I've gone all fancy
Two blocks of couplets and then a verse
(But will it impress our own dear Clancy?)
And now another...can it be? the end of the curse?

Couplets two, and then, do you see?
That middle one goes ab, ab!
And then one more, (I'm not quite free)
Aunt Dot! I've made it, now its three!

Hey there Chris, we sure went amiss
rhyming of things untrue
Please keep in mind our age at this time
we're not as young as you
We do what it takes to avoid the shakes
to sound so witty and cool
but after the moment our words are just sent
we end up looking the fool
