Sleepwalk
I just love this tune, but never got around to learning it until this weekend. I still want to smooth out a few parts - try for more mojo, but it's coming together. This is my quick take on the classic Santo and Johnny tune from the '50s, "Sleepwalk." I will try to get my friend Carl to play bass. I think I do OK, but Carl is amazing.
Tracks are:
Collings OM3C acoustic guitar
Modulus VJ bass
'50s Electro lapsteel
digital drums
Sleepwalk - Rockerbob

Beautiful RB. For me, the version of this song will always be the one by Shadows, I just love the way Hank carried off songs like this and midnight without using slide or electronic effects. (No criticism of your version intended, just me showing my age)

Thanks Scotty!
The Collings is wonderful! Truely a step up from the other acoustic guitars I have.

I played a Collings when I was looking for another guitar to dedicate to fingerstyle. It was wonderful...and also very expensive.

Amazing RB. Absolutely smooth and soulful playing. What time is the Rockerbob Radio Revival Hour show on? I'll have to tune in!

That was great, RockerBob. I listened real good too, because my guitar teacher gave me an arrangement of that to learn a couple weeks ago. Got the rhythm part down, but for a couple of the chord changes; got the melody down pretty well but haven't tried the double stops yet (they weren't part of the score, for some reason) but I'm sure gonna get it down now. You're playing is an inspiration!

Thanks, papadog65!
I learned this from listening to the "Santo & Johnny" recording. I'm not sure about all the double stops. I just figured out what I heard as best I could.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
