Classical Gas

Been practicing this for what seems like forever. Still not perfect but improving each go. See what you think.

Cheers Guys,
I almost had a go at the video this morning Starsailor but am full of cold and I thought dripping onto the top of my guitar might not be the most attractive thing. Did a version of stairway to heaven not so long ago on vid and was surprised at the things I do whilst playing.
Thanks Knight & Slickcat for your kind comments.

I'm full of cold as well Fireblade, I tried to record a song this morning but it just wasn't happening, it's hard to get the vocal right with a cold so I called a halt as there's always next year

This is one of those tunes that you have got to keep "chipping" away at, it takes a while to get all the parts flowing.... plus... get a handle on the dopey timing.
Well done fireblade.

That is exactly it Skinny, It's getting the timing right. There are some real weird changes in it particularly the run of chord changes near the end. I never know whether to play them fast or slow LOL. I think I need to listen to it a few more times as I've been relying on memory and I know from experience I have a habit of changing arrangements to allow for my playing ability. I've been learning the intro to Jonny B goode, but doing it from how I think the tune goes, my version turned out nothing like the original lol. BUT it has been a useful experience.

These may help or hinder............ Mason Williams.
Notice he sits out the orchestration that TE and Clapton play through.
Another link.....lessons..... ignore his pinky on this, it's a bad habit to get into.

Cheers m8,
I love the TE version but don't ever think I'll get that good without giving up work lol.

I like this version of MW's where he hums the instrumental, (If he can do it so can I)

YouTube - Mason Williams - Classical Gas - Back stage

It's slightly slower and you can see what he's playing most of the time.
