Also, when I used to get my nails down, they would "rough" up the nail with a small sanding bit so the acrylic would adhere better. Eventually, I think it damages the nail bed. I had mine done for a few years, but they are fine now. Takes lots of calcium. I do now and my nails are stronger than they've ever been. They use to split and crack all the time. Now when I trim them (I keep both hands very short), the nails fly across the room!
