This song is taken from a time when the Australian/New zealand armies landed on Gallipoli during the first world war, they were supposed to knock Turkey out of the war but the Turks were ready.
The Australians suffered terribly and over 8000 of them were killed.
The song is about one soldiers journey through it all.

Once again, it's a sad song and a bit gory in places!
All the same I hope you like it.

I'm from oxfordshire and I don't have an accent either. LOL. Don't you love the way that the UK is such a tiny little place and has such a wealth of different sounding people? I listened to your streets of London over & over. You've some talent there sir.

Fireblade,thank you too, I know what you mean about accents, in this area there are even regional dialects, for example Sunderland accent is different to Newcastle! Most people in this area have a strong accent - except me of course I'm really pleased you liked The streets of London, it's one of my favourites to sing.
