The band played waltzing matilda
This song is taken from a time when the Australian/New zealand armies landed on Gallipoli during the first world war, they were supposed to knock Turkey out of the war but the Turks were ready.
The Australians suffered terribly and over 8000 of them were killed.
The song is about one soldiers journey through it all.
Once again, it's a sad song and a bit gory in places!
All the same I hope you like it.

Kenny,
Firstly I'm not at all offended, I see you as a friend offering help/advice and I know I'll benefit in the end
I have an older version (1) of Auditions, it sounds similar to what you described only I have no idea what the sliders do.
To navigate to 'vocal stage - warm', there a menu on the left side of the window, I go to 'delay effects', double click on 'quickverb', when the quickverb window opens theres a drop down menu, 'vocal stage - warm' is in that. If your version is different I've attached a couple of pics. In image1 this is what I see if I click quickverb before any music is recorded into auditions. Image 2 shows what I see if I click quickverb after music has been recorded.
I've only used the menu in image 2 up till now, the 'echoey' slider doesn't seem to do anything (at least not that I can hear). I'd be very grateful if you have any tips.
cheers,
John

Pleased you liked the links thought people would like to know what those guys went through, I confess to being a bit hooked on history, your voice really suited this song Jomi it brings the emotion of the lyrics out.
Churchill always stood by his plan and it did nearly work, but a combination of bad weather and poor leadership worked against the Allies and led to the disaster.
I look after a small memorial garden at a local Navy base, when I see fresh flowers laid by the Memorial stone and the plaques it reminds me how many people are affected by the Death of one Soldier and always makes me pause for thought.
Pleasure to hear this John, sorry for going a bit off thread.
All the Best
Chris

Great song, beautifully done Jomi. I guess the Turks have their own legendary version of this fateful day.

They do indeed Fly, it's called Canakkale Icindi, here's a version of it, it's quite a haunting song.

Thanks Jomi, I found it with your help, very little difference from version 1 to vs 1.5 . All of the sliders will work in a somewhat real time basis, once you have your track showing click on "preveiw" then you can experiment with each slider. I recommend doing one at a time so as to get a good feel for what it/each does, also some take a second or two to come up to speed so to speak. Some times you may have to move 2 or more sliders to really hear a difference although they all do make some changes, the only way to see some of them is by clicking ok to add it then compare your wave form/shape to see that it did indeed change, remember you can always "undo"{under Edit} anything as long as you haven't closed the session and saved the file.
I've found out that if you get to mixed up just select another option from the drop down list and then go back and it will re-set them to the default settings where you began.
I just looked at your screen shots again...you might not have the preveiw option{least from what I can see} but you can still add and undo to experiment. Hope some of this helps.............Kenny
Edit ....duh me...it shows "preveiw" in your second shot so you should be able to play around with the sliders and hear the effects before you decide to add them. You may have to high-lite the track first tho,{left click and drag while holding the left mouse button down...same thing to add fx just to a small piece of your track}

Jomi....As an Aussie, this song has always been as close to my heart as a tune can be. It's the one I play every ANZAC day!
You have captured the essence of the song, perfectly....And you're a bleedin POM.
Your version is the only one I've ever heard that matched the original for emotion.
I'm crying after listening to both.
The ending is sublime!
Cheers
(A very emotional), Skinny.

Jomi,
I listened to this a number of times now. What a darn good tune and playing. Like skinny, The ending was the marching band as they moved on.

Very moving, Jomi- excellent singing and playing as usual. I also think that the reverb was just a touch heavy on this one- but it also sounded a bit muddy overall- perhaps a bit of eq work to let the highs come through a bit more.
The end of the song was absolutely killer. Nice one.

Starsailor, thanks a lot for the brilliant input, you've enlightened a few people including me, it's really appreciated
Thanks Fly135 - looks like Starsailor answered your question
Fireblade, thank you, I have an accent??
Wow Skinny, thank you for that, I see that as the ultimate compliment - (the tears - not the bleedin Pom bit!) - hope you cheered up now though
Chris, thank you yes one or two picked up on those things -I made the mistake of not sending it to Yvie first, she usually tells me what's wrong before I post. Kenny has been helping me with auditions to see if I can alter some of the settings I use, I have no idea how the muddiness crept in other than with 'hiss removal' for which I also use a preset called 'standard hiss removal'. I try to use the profiler for noise removal but sometimes the result is plain weird.
Glad you liked the ending which is intentionally distant and echoey although even that turned out a bit muddy too.
When all else fails, read the instructions.
