Introducing me
Hello to everyone who reads these posts!
My name is Dugal, I live in Brisbane and I've been playing for a year now. I've been trying to teach myself through listening, reading TABs, magazines, guides and etc. I love fingerpicking because I can directly feel the strings under my fingers. I like pics for making my music louder, but for me it always feels more...detached. As far as styles of music, I like acoustic blues and folk a lot, but really I like just about anything I can wrap my fingers around. All melodies are fun.
I just bough Kirk's book last night. It has already been worth the money and I'm only half way through! Ever since I heard about "tone, tone, semitone, tone, tone, tone, semitone", I knew there had to be a way of generalising all music on the guitar. This is what Kirk's book does. But it is distracting me from my university studies!
Every Monday I can't wait for Kirk's newest lesson . I really enjoy learning them and thinking about the chords. My favourites are the ones where the melody lines fit nicely into chord shapes.
Hopefully I get to know some of you in this Forum.
Dugal.
