I'll try the email thing. (It might be hard cos I am only ever logged in on the log in page, as soon as I click forward, I'm logged out)
I rolled back my computer too but it hasn't made any difference. Someone somewhere in the world knows the solution to this problem, I shall endeavour to track them down!
Thanks for all the trouble everyone has gone to, I'm touched and moved!

Here are some things I am seeing as in missing words or notes.

Is anyone else seeing this problem? John B has mentioned it also.

I never see that unless I have logged out. It sure looks like somehow the cookie is getting reset o deleted or turned off every time you go to a new page.

I can't even see the pictures, all I get is a log in screen!

I am not sure if this will help but I had the same problem about six months ago. Going round and round with the log in screen and not being able to download any of the attachments. After speaking with Clancy, (we determined that it was a cookie/security setting problem), I went into Control Panel/Internet Options/Security and lowered the setting to Medium-High and made sure that all of my add-on software (Nortons anti Virus/Internet Security) would allow cookies and I have not had the problem since.

Does it happen with the other sites where you log-in? Does it happen with IE or any other browser? In the early release of FF there was a bug as seen by similar problems here, but I have not experienced yet with 2.0.0.9.

It's really weird. I was trying to change my security and privacy settings but I could not simulate the problem. My default settings are attached, if that would be of any help.

The login script, as well as other parts of the board, is java based. There was a recent "java" update. Did any of you folks having concerns recently update your java application?

(Only if you want to)
if you keep cache for many web sites, clearing cache may not be an option for you

If you are using FireFox (regardless of version) clear your entire cached entries.

If you have a saved password file, it may be a hassle.

In FF go to TOOLS, select OPTIONS, select the SECURITY tab.
On the Security section, click EXCEPTIONS. Check your list. If there is an entry for www.guitarforbeginners.com remove it.

Close FF and reopen. See if that clears up the login issue.

Hi SM,

Looks like you've had some good advice on how to fix this anyway, but just try two things. First, try browsing the forum using Internet Explorer (does that work?) - next, in Firefox, go to Tools > Options > make sure Accept Cookies from sites is ticked and (until they expire) is selected, then down where it says Always clear my private data when I close Firefox make sure that is NOT selected and then click OK.

If you could confirm that is all set like that in your Firefox, just for starters... and also if you can browse the site without being logged out in IE.
