GfB&B Audio Video Chat room official release.
GfB&B Audio|Video chat room officially released
Well it's been a while coming, but the beta version of the Audio/Video chat room that many of our members have been enjoying over the last few months is now fully integrated into the forum... this means that you will now be automatically logged into the chat using your forum name (no separate login needed). You can now also see Who's in the Chat Room by looking at the "Members currently using the GfB&B Audio Video Chat room" bar at the top of each page (just below the nav bar).
I need to give a BIG thank you to our member SkyNet (aka Carey) who is the one who made this all possible. The integration of the video chat room into our forum was way beyond my capabilities. He has done a great job and has put a lot of work into this on his weekends and time off over the last couple of months... and he hasn't complained once and has been an absolute pleasure to deal with... thank you so much Carey.
So, it's there to be used. You can also use the audio/video chat one on one by using the IM button.
Please note:There is a limit of 6 users that can use any one room at any one time. If you are the 7th user to join the chat you will automatically get put into a new room. You can either wait there for more users to join or wait until someone from the other room (or rooms) decides to change to your room or leaves the other room so you can enter as the 6th user.
Moderators and admins can enter any room even if full.
New members please note:
New users will not be able to access the chat until they have been here a certain amount of time and have a certain amount of posts or are known and recommended by an established member. This isn't for any other reason than a video chat room can be used for offensive purposes. This has happened already a couple of times... and as some of our member's children are sometimes in the chat room with them, we want to take precautions against anyone being offended.

You should be able to access it windsong. I just sent you a PM about logging in. Maybe log out and log back in and then try to get back into chat. You are definitely in the usergroup that has access.

That's strange windsong, after Clancy told you how to get in there I decided to try it clicking on those balloons and it worked fine for me, in fact it was fun, I saw and talked to skinnybloke, eddiez, and SkyNet.
Doesn't make sense, unless somehow you aren't logged in even though it says you are may you should log out and the back in to see if that corrects the problem.

Windsong, if that doesn't work, PM me your password and I'll try logging in as you and see if I can get into chat.
Might be tomorrow now as I'm off to bed.

Windsong, it must be a problem with your cookie. A cookie is a file placed on your computer that identifies you to GfB&B so that you don't have to login everytime you visit the site.
As Clancy said, try logging off and on again. If that doesn't work then delete all of your cookies in your browser and try again. This will delete all of the cookies that have been site by websites you visit (not all together a bad thing). You may have to login or provide your information again to other sites.

SkyNet thanks. I logged off, but that doesn't seem to work. To the best of my computer skills I think I deleted all cookies, but i am not really sure though. Would having 2 browsers (Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) on my computer be the problem ? What happens, when I hit the chat icon it takes me to another "window" and then a message appears. There is no warning signs in Japanese so I don't think something is wrong with the site that it goes to. Well any way it should be a simple matter to solve.

Hi Windsong, having 2 browsers is not a problem. Do you get the same message in both browsers?
If you like, pm me your password and I'll try it from here. Afterwards, you can change your password to something else.

Just to be clear:
When we say "logout", click on the "Log Out" link at the top of the page below where it says "Welcome Back: Windsong". Click ok to confirm and then login again.
To clear your cookies in Internet Explorer:
1. Click on "Tools" in the top menu bar in IE.
2. Select "Internet Options" in the drop down menu.
3. Click "Delete Cookies" in the Internet Temporary Files section.
4. Click Ok to confirm.
Hope this helps, if it doesn't Clancy or I need to test your ID to see what is going on.

windsong,
I logged in as you and was able to get into chat, so it must be a setting on your computer. Check your cookie settings. In Firefox, look under Tools - Options - privacy - do you have accept cookies ticked?

Hi Clancy,
Thanks to you and Skynet for setting this up.
I did not know that t was on the site and entered it by default so to to speak. Fortunately 'CSHUDE' was there to talk me through it and thanks to him, I now have a computer speaker and have already talked to a guy in Mexico!
Love this site to bits and wish you well.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
