GfB&B Audio Video Chat room official release.

GfB&B Audio|Video chat room officially released

Well it's been a while coming, but the beta version of the Audio/Video chat room that many of our members have been enjoying over the last few months is now fully integrated into the forum... this means that you will now be automatically logged into the chat using your forum name (no separate login needed). You can now also see Who's in the Chat Room by looking at the "Members currently using the GfB&B Audio Video Chat room" bar at the top of each page (just below the nav bar).

I need to give a BIG thank you to our member SkyNet (aka Carey) who is the one who made this all possible. The integration of the video chat room into our forum was way beyond my capabilities. He has done a great job and has put a lot of work into this on his weekends and time off over the last couple of months... and he hasn't complained once and has been an absolute pleasure to deal with... thank you so much Carey.

So, it's there to be used. You can also use the audio/video chat one on one by using the IM button.

Please note:There is a limit of 6 users that can use any one room at any one time. If you are the 7th user to join the chat you will automatically get put into a new room. You can either wait there for more users to join or wait until someone from the other room (or rooms) decides to change to your room or leaves the other room so you can enter as the 6th user.

Moderators and admins can enter any room even if full.

New members please note:

New users will not be able to access the chat until they have been here a certain amount of time and have a certain amount of posts or are known and recommended by an established member. This isn't for any other reason than a video chat room can be used for offensive purposes. This has happened already a couple of times... and as some of our member's children are sometimes in the chat room with them, we want to take precautions against anyone being offended.

Clancy

Aunt Doty,
I went to the site but couldn't find any info on my problem, maybe some day Vista will change something that allows things that worked on XP to work on it, I won't hold my breath though.

Don't know if this is any help Skip, it's from one of the tech team at Microsoft, it depends which logitech quickcam you have and which cannon scanner you have, don't think they're all compatible, if you have vista updates activated they should be able to id your hardware and update the driver automatically, good luck Skip.

I'm a bit curious how you can post when you're locked up in the chat room, do you think you might be hallucinating?

Yep Jessica, there is a limit on how many users can use a room. After that limit is reached you automatically get put into a new room. You can either wait there for more users to join or wait until someone from the other room (or rooms) decides to change to your room.

I think the limit is 6 members (this doesn't count mods and admins) mods and admins can enter any room even if full.

Pay me 50 bucks. The post limit is deliberately not revealed JC, for a number of reasons, sorry.

No worries! I'm a forum moderator myself (motorcycles, not guitars) so I can appreciate the grief you guys can get from time to time. I'll just hang tight until I have access. Cheers

Too true Jay. I know even less about motorbikes than I know about guitars

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
