Gibson Les Paul Standard for me. While Strats are sweet in their own right, I'll always go back to the set neck singlecut with dual humbuckers. It's the ideal guitar for me.

Gibson Les Paul. But then again, I haven't tried that many.

New, a Les Paul is anywhere between 3500-5000$. You might be able to get one used for a grand and a half, and that's if it's really crapped up.
Got mine for $600 from ebay (probably should add $75 for setup). It's in pretty good shape too. But I really like my son's Epi too.

I love the looks of the Les Paul style (not that the others aren't great looking as well).

Sorry for the double post folks, slow response today.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
