Hi j123. You'll see soon enough that you don't really need to think about scales like you used to, but yes, most definitely. You'll be able to quickly see, therefore use, any and all flavors: major/minor, 7th, 9th, sus, aug, dim etc... anything can comes up is quickly and easily decipherable wherever it lurks on the fretboard.
