Its good to see you

This is my first attempt at a song using my Irish flat back Bouzouki which I'm trying to learn, I know this a guitar site but it's very close, it has strings, soundbox, nut, saddle, frets etc. besides, I asked first.
Hope you like it.

Thanks AT, I'll do a few pic and post them shortly.

Thanks Starsailor, When I upload the pics, take a peek at the hearth, you'll see a few of the minerals from local mines here. You might be able to zoom in a bit.

X4 thank you, pics are coming shortly.

Thanks Matzz That's probably because it's the only bouzouki you heard on this site right?

Eddiez, thank you if you want to add something be my guest, I'll look forward to it.

Thanks Skinny Another awsome compliment from you (or are you saying it's the only bouzouki you ever heard ) I'm still learning basics with it, I don't know the names of the chords I'm playing yet!

Thanks Scotty

Thanks a lot Hilch glad you enjoyed it.

Elle, thank you Someone else has already explained the word bouzouki, but I'll post some pictures as soon as I get done thanking everyone for their comments.
I think it's eaier to play than guitar, there are 8 strings but in 4 pairs so it's the same as playing 4 strings, many of the chords need just two fingers. I sent a few people on the site copies of CDs I made on the pc if you would like one just pm your address.

Thanks Tsidewinder and thanks also for the link.

Aunt Doty, thank you Chipper and upbeat - should I tone it down a bit? . It's quite like a stretched mandolin, same number of strings and I believe the tuning is the same.

Thanks a lot WW Feel free to add in some guitar. I thought the ladies aways knew ALL the right buttons to press? ....I'm going to get beaten up now aren't I !!

Thanks JayJay

Twilli, thank you and thanks too for the explanantion.

Jomi,
What I meant, was that you should try that in a mix with the guitar sometime. What a pair that would make.

Thank you Si, It's not a traditional song it's contemporary, well 80's era. It was written by Allan Taylor. One or two people have asked me in the past about adding in extra tracks for other instruments or harmonies, the reason I don't do this very often is because I'm determined that one day I'll stand in front of an audience and sing my head off!! I won't be able to add any 'extras' so I'd like to be as original as I can - hope that makes sense.

Thanks Tom they taste awful!

I had a feeling that's what you meant Eddiez, but I hoped you might have a go anyway!

Brilliant Jomi, you (and bouzoukie) would be welcome in my home any day. Isn't there a dog breed with a similar name?

I think Tom was having a Homer Simpson moment there - "mmm...sounds like a pastry".

  oops

I messed up and posted the mp3 file instead of the Soundclick link, which meant this thread was temporarily deleted, the pics vanished when that happened, so here they are again.
This is an Irish flatback bouzouki.
