I'm with tsidewinder. The guitar tone meshed well with the backing track. FX can be a good thing, but they're also abused and/or grossly overused sometimes. If you can play well "clean" without a lot of distortion and fx to cover your mistakes, you're a lot better off than a sloppy player who "hides" behind their effects. I've seen too many "wannabe shredders" who sound great with a ton of grind and delay dialed in, but wouldn't sound like much of a player at all if you plugged them straight into the amp and made them play clean. Effects should be used to enhance the guitar, not as a crutch. Thus endeth my "mini-rant."
+1 on the comments about nice playing also. You did a great job on that.

It's all the more remarkable considering that you've only been playing for 6 months!
