Need critique
I recorded this using a LP with P90's > Roland Micro Cube into a Line 6 TonePort > Audacity. I got the backing track (renman's winter E) from the internet
I like the tone, but would like some recording ideas as to how to make it sound better. I've been recording for less than a month and playing guitar for about 6 months, so any help would be greatly appreciated as well as much needed.
Also, any help with my structure, expression, etc., would be appreciated, too.

Sorry, I disagree. The guitar tone was excellent.

I'm with tsidewinder. The guitar tone meshed well with the backing track. FX can be a good thing, but they're also abused and/or grossly overused sometimes. If you can play well "clean" without a lot of distortion and fx to cover your mistakes, you're a lot better off than a sloppy player who "hides" behind their effects. I've seen too many "wannabe shredders" who sound great with a ton of grind and delay dialed in, but wouldn't sound like much of a player at all if you plugged them straight into the amp and made them play clean. Effects should be used to enhance the guitar, not as a crutch. Thus endeth my "mini-rant."
+1 on the comments about nice playing also. You did a great job on that. It's all the more remarkable considering that you've only been playing for 6 months!

"I wish I could play that fast - then I would have the option of not doing that."

I dug the bluesy tone myself. I also thought you have a nice vibrato.... awsome job.
