I just learned this tune, so I thought I'd record a quick video. This is "If I Had a Boat" by Lyle Lovett. Please forgive the sour vocal notes. It's hard to go back and fix a live performance.
Hey RB,
Great tune!
But be careful what you wish for!
Until I traded my ski boat to a buddy a few weeks ago for a case of beer and a promise, I had three boats. Now I have two, new engine in the one, and the headgasket now blown in the other. I love boats, I love boating but do you know what boat stands for? Bring Out Another Thousand! Boating season also means, "CanuckTodd is barely playing his guitars!"

Yeah, I keep looking around for a beach / campfire guitar with character, but haven't had any luck. I guess I hope I'll visit a garage sale and some old lady will be selling her dearly departed hubby's vintage guitar for $10 bucks. Same pipe dream all guitar players have I'll bet!

Good job RB! I also like his 'Simple Song'. What was your right hand pattern, it sounded really impressive?
I saw your 'Do you want to Play the Guitar?' on Youtube and thought it was hilarious. Anyone interested can find it at (hope you don't mind me posting it Keith?)

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
