Thanks for clearing up the mystery!
The moderators here explained it yesterday, and it all made sense. I didn't realize you could go back and edit a post. That's why I couldn't figure out how there were two versions of the same message. My first instinct, and apologies to the moderators, was that one of them who really loved your take changed your message to add their own editorial comment! But conspiracy theories rarely pan out and the simplest explanation is usually where the truth lies.
Besides, the moderators here are the greatest, right?
I'm also glad to hear your comments regarding NoCat's version. I tried to download his track and was curious to hear it, but by the time I got to it, it was gone. I also agree with AllThumbs that a finished painting is just that -- finished. But I think music is a little different. I wonder how many versions of Greensleeves have been played over the centuries. I wonder if anyone really captured the "one definitive take."
Playing along to your version, learning the song, and even trying to sing along, was loads of fun, uplifting, and taught me a lot. I played it for my guitar teacher last night.
Anyway, that's the last word from me on this, I have no hard feelings whatsoever.
But I did learn that if I post something I really don't want to say.. I still have a change to go back and change it! That's good to know!
