A Bad Pickup

I have a Cort A5 Has Bartolini MK1-5 Pickups
same as the ibanez I do Minor Eletrical work Including Pots and pickups but My Qustions is what does a bad pick up sounds like
it's on overdrive Super buzzing any ideas
