I've gone for getting the strings to ring properly. I find that I don't leave the finger down for the full length of the note (because I want to move to the next fret) which means that the note dies before it should. This results in a 'choppy' sound (ploinky ploink) instead of flowing seamlessly.

I try to overcome this by going over it really slowly so I can see/hear where I am doing it and then try to correct it, but it's a challenge. I also sometimes just try playing the piece faster to camoflage it, but that's really 'cheating' - isn't it?

One good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain - Bob Marley
