Great lyrics Kenny

I think it needs a little higher voice to match the words though ..

Im not saying your singing isn't any good mate but its just a little deep thats all ..

I have been known to be wrong though

OK, took out some of the fx, and let MT's tune thru more as well, any offerrings of help will be appreciated...this singing stuff is all new to me, so other than my voice what can I do to improve this? I figured since I went this far, I might as well learn from my mistakes.

song1_X4 take2.mp3

Thanks for any suggestions

Good job Kenny. You have a nice deep resonant voice, it carries well above the music and you seem to have good control and you aren't trying to force it into a higher register.
The biggest thing about vocals is to be comfortable and to have control (probably one of the most difficult things to learn) and that comes with practice (just like the guitar).
Control at low volumes is more difficult than at high volumes, one reason some entertainers can only sing at wide open.
Keep it coming, its getting better every time.

Thanks Modalthinking, working some crazy hours lately, but I'll give the whole tune a shot this weekend....your tune has bit me and just won't let go..I'm not complaining though. Wish me luck or at least more singing skills..LOL...Who knows maybe a "real" singer will help us complete this.

Had to have another listen with these wonderful words of yours in mind X4! Sorry I can't add a beautiful voice to help you guys out, I'm an aging ballerina, not a singer.
X4 you are good with words and this melody is sure catchy!

Hi there,

Ive just noticed this thread.. and even though i know youve got your lyrics down.. just thought i'd have a go at the lyrics for fun having listend to the tune. Hope i dont offend anyone by posting them..

Alone in the dark

You never told me why,
You never did explain,
I thought that we were good,
I thought you felt the same,
I gave you all my heart,
You didn't do likewise,
You smashed it all apart
you spoiled our love with lies.

Alone in the dark,
Trying not to feel,
Trying not to cry,
Trying just to heal,
Living breath by breath,
Coping day by day,
Wishing that this pain,
Would slowly go away.

I'd do it all again,
Each and every thing,
Can we start again today,
and see what tomorrow brings,
Can we put aside the past,
and get back to me and you,
i could learn to get along,
do you think that you could to?

Alone in the dark,
Trying not to feel,
Trying not to cry,
Trying just to heal,
Living breath by breath,
Coping day by day,
Wishing that this pain,
Would slowly go away.
