How do I know I need to change my strings?
Hi all. Well I've been at this guitar thing for a couple of months now and still enjoying it. I have a tech question now though. I am using a nylon stringed classical guitar and I have noticed that the D string and to a lesser extent the A string have become discoloured. It looks like the string is actually copper underneath nylon windings and where I put my finger is wearing out, revealing copper underneath. The point of contact between the string and upper fret wires has also left 'erosion' of the outer winding. Does this mean it's time to change that/all the strings? I think it's buzzing more on that string than it was about a month ago but that could be me deteriorating of course!
