Your practice time should reflect what you want to achieve as a player. If you want to be able to strum a few chords you can get away with minimal effort and time, if you wish to play more technically and musically demanding styles you will need to allocate time accordingly.
Determing what will occur in your practice schedule is also essential to achieve growth. Many people stumble through 'practising', essentially playing the same things over and over. Intelligent planning in regard to your goals will help in this regard.
