Week-End Collab.......Anyone?

Hey All

Trev aka "Hilch" posted some cool lyrics that I had a play with at the weekend called weekend(....LOL) and he has kindly allowed me to ask for a collab on this as I love it so much.

Trouble is that I do not do it justice so is anyone up for turning this into something cool.

I suspose what it needs is the following:

Lyrics - Mine are only in for a guideline
Bass - Nice simple or fancy bass line
Intro - Possibly a a nice arpegio style with the bass line before drums
Solo - Who wants to blast some cool rock licks out?
2nd Guitar part - the riff needs some highlighting maybe?

I have attached two files one is just guitar and drums and the other has my poor voice on it with my interpretation. There are no rules, you can be good, great or a noobie like me just as long as you have fun with it.

Come on lads, give it a go.
Attached Files
File Type: mp3 Week-End version no vox.mp3 (4.15 MB, 28 views)
File Type: mp3 Week-End version2.mp3 (4.15 MB, 34 views)

Yeah you can send that if its easier, don't know about compatability but I have a few conversion apps or if need be I can d/l Krystal to convert. is it just a standard wav file from krystal? I'm using Adobe Auditions for this.

Well...is it the weekend?

Kriss, I used your first cut with this, can redo if you all want. Stratrat I split the difference on the synth between what you and SlickCat wanted, Sorry Strat but I couldn't get your other version to line up either, hope its OK. Elle?? I thought you were posting the full "Em Bare Assed" edition, I used what you "offered" so I better shut-up. GT....What can I say, I used your original because...come on.. how can you improve on the Ultimate? Trev.. you didn't send a clip and all I have of you singing is some jungle animal crooning so I thought I better leave it as is. X4...well... stay hidden until the results are in.

Thoughts? cuss words? whinning? congrats?....I'll take what I can get at this point. Sure was FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL X4StringDrive, I DID, I did...didn't I?? I only did the backup to Kriss' vocals, which means I didn't sing the entire thing...right?

I was just trying to mesh with his already completed vocals.

And, ummm, where is it? Were you going to attach a file to your message above, or is it somewhere else?

I'm soooooo confused....LOL (*all others with the same difficulty say, "Aye!"...)

Well, then, you also forgot to say, "Aye!" LOL But let me be the first, unless someone posts before I hit send on this, to congratulate you, and everyone else, and YES, THIS WAS GREAT FUN! I love it!

It's good, the vocals are getting drowned out again, but I have a feeling that the more we fiddle with this song, the farther away from ground zero we get...

Is it latency that bumps me back a notch, timing-wise, when you mesh them together, near the final chorus? And where did my spoken words go in between the final two stanza's? LOL I'm starting to sound like a Diva, and I'm soooo un-Diva-esque...

Aye, my apologies...I was having a hard time finding a happy medium on the vox, it would sound good in auditions and crappy in the windoze player, so I'd go back and move a few sliders around and...bam right between the eyes, vice versa...My only defense is this was my first attempt at using others materials.

On the offset mesh in the vocals....you two have very individual/independant styles and so I off-set them to the timing of each segment that sounded like it meshed albiet maybe only one or two words......Sorry, I gave it all of the best of my abilities. If it makes you feel better, remember the old saying..."you get what you pay for" LOL................Kenny

cool guys! This one is getting better and better. I could re record another take if you asked me to.
At the time i was reading this i got this idea, it would be fun to hear a song recorded by each one of us using diferent aproache´s and styles to fill it. Wouldnt be a nice idea?
