Week-End Collab.......Anyone?

Hey All

Trev aka "Hilch" posted some cool lyrics that I had a play with at the weekend called weekend(....LOL) and he has kindly allowed me to ask for a collab on this as I love it so much.

Trouble is that I do not do it justice so is anyone up for turning this into something cool.

I suspose what it needs is the following:

Lyrics - Mine are only in for a guideline
Bass - Nice simple or fancy bass line
Intro - Possibly a a nice arpegio style with the bass line before drums
Solo - Who wants to blast some cool rock licks out?
2nd Guitar part - the riff needs some highlighting maybe?

I have attached two files one is just guitar and drums and the other has my poor voice on it with my interpretation. There are no rules, you can be good, great or a noobie like me just as long as you have fun with it.

Come on lads, give it a go.

  Ok, I did my part....!

I think it records way better when I can play the music at the same time, and I just prefer to NOT post vocals on here without any background music, since I sound like such a nutcase (shrieking chickens come to mind, don't they?!!!)

Let me know if this is alright, and now it's ready for Kriss' vocals to go over top or whatever. You mixologists can cut out my vocals anywhere you want, but this way we are all in the same book, never mind the same page...LOL

I put a touch of echo, and amplified it, and yes, I'm a newbie, so there are probably other effects that it needs; I just don't know about them, or know where to find them.

Oh, and if I was wrong, and did too much, or if you need me to redo with JUST the vocals, again, please let me know.

That was very good Elle, But we do need the vocals on a seperate track to be able to manipulate it as needed. If it makes you feel any better you can E-mail them to me {or anyone else attempting mixing} just PM me and we can go from there. Your no more a Shrieking chicken nutcase than the rest of us. LOL

Heres the latest, Kriss let me know if this is good with you ....all of you let me know.
This is just a sample, be nice to have seperate tracks, but what-ever you guys want is fine with me. If I can get seperate tracks I can always try with the other versions as well.

PM Me Elle, don't think you can send attachments via PM and its not a good idea to place e-mail addresses here in public.

Funny you should say that, Hilch, for the first two years of my jamming history, I was the 'fill-in' singer until the drunk and usually wasted male singer showed up, falling out of the taxi, and I'd have to hear choruses of, "Hey, finally! The REAL SINGER is here!" Ouch, huh? And after having warmed them up for the past 2 hours, too. But ya know, I just kept pluggin' away, and when the guy ended up in rehab, SOMEONE had to do the gigs, and guess who was waiting? And they never took him back...

Yep, affirmation feels great! I've actually been mentoring under a former Juno winner from 1973, who is a great friend of mine, and she's been teaching me everything she knows about the blues, because while I had the power, I didn't have the control...and I LOVE CONTROL! (can you tell? LOL)

Yep, I'm open to whatever projects anyone has...I sing with two bands already and am looking at a third, possibly, all different styles of music. I REALLY want to do a LUVLY CELTIC tune at some point, too, but finding musicians in Toronto that can and will do that type of music is difficult, especially writing it, although my Dad sings and plays the bodhran at pubs twice a week (methinks he does it for the Guinness!) and he's 77!

If I found a lovely Celtic song, that I could record as a duet, with my Da, now that would bring tears to both our eyes. He's got a beautiful tenor...
