Week-End Collab.......Anyone?
Hey All
Trev aka "Hilch" posted some cool lyrics that I had a play with at the weekend called weekend(....LOL) and he has kindly allowed me to ask for a collab on this as I love it so much.
Trouble is that I do not do it justice so is anyone up for turning this into something cool.
I suspose what it needs is the following:
Lyrics - Mine are only in for a guideline
Bass - Nice simple or fancy bass line
Intro - Possibly a a nice arpegio style with the bass line before drums
Solo - Who wants to blast some cool rock licks out?
2nd Guitar part - the riff needs some highlighting maybe?
I have attached two files one is just guitar and drums and the other has my poor voice on it with my interpretation. There are no rules, you can be good, great or a noobie like me just as long as you have fun with it.
Come on lads, give it a go.

You gonna have a go at the leads in that other open spot, Trev?

Sounding good guys! Hilch, did you mean a "fiend" or a friend? Either way, if he can play some nice lead it doesn't much matter! I'll be dropping back in to hear the final version one of these days.

The chords are A,C, and D ..... I think just repeated all the way through.
C and D are power chords, the A minor scale works ok if you want to noodle over the top.
Most of this comes from the 5th string so I would plunk the 5th string and then follow with a short strum of the 4th and 3rd string

Trev - like Kriss said, you could use the A minor pentatonic scale. If you don't know it, it's these notes (think of it as a fretboard diagram rather than tab):
e ----5--8------- (A, C)
B ----5--8------- (E, G)
G ----5-7-------- (C, D)
D ----5-7-------- (G, A)
A ----5-7-------- (D, E)
E ----5--8------- (A, C)
I hope Kirk doesn't nuke me into oblivion for advocating it, because being "stuck in the box" like this is exactly what Plane Talk is designed to break you out of....but I have to admit that I still fall back on it because I haven't mastered the PT method yet. It's pretty basic, but if you noodle with those notes you can't go too far wrong. Play around with it and see what you come up with!

Glad you enjoyed it, and enjoyed your take!
I find this tune very easy to get into the groove and its the right BPM for me. I should be able to put an intro on this later, and maybe a closing lead. I am thinking of breaking out the wah for the "sleepy" bits
